Client Bookkeeper

Salary: £18K to £23K (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full Time (37.5h per week)
Westbury or Warminster Office

Key Responsibilities

  • Allocate bank payments and receipts
  • Carry out bank reconciliations
  • Timely completion of VAT returns
  • Preparing monthly CIS returns (if applicable)
  • Check that transactions are accurate and error free
  • Complete checklists for month end and year end, ensuring all relevant paperwork is attached
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently with clients and other members of the team
  • Prepare appropriate schedules and reports as requested by clients and/or the management team

Candidates required attributes, & skill sets

  • Bookkeeping experience – further training will be given
  • Ability to use own initiative and work autonomously, as well as part of a team
  • Adaptable, keen and flexible approach
  • Punctual and attentive – able to support a busy team
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Able to prioritise a very busy workload and work effectively under pressure
  • Professional telephone manner

Preferred Skill set

  • Practice experience preferred
  • Possess relevant NVQ/SVQ qualifications, or specialist qualifications such as AAT
  • Appropriate knowledge of VAT

Accountant

Salary: £25K to £30K (depending on experience)
Job Type: Full Time (37.5h per week)
Westbury or Warminster Office

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of Company Accounts under FRS 102/105 and the associated corporation tax returns
• Production of Management Accounts packs
• Ability to undertake personal tax planning for directors
• Ability to train/manage/oversee and review junior staff members work

Candidates required attributes, & skill sets

• Extensive accounting and finance background (practice experience preferred)
• Exam qualified/part qualified
• Good up-to-date CPE and knowledge of recent developments in accounting standards
• Experience of SME’s covering a range of industries
• Computer packages – QuickBooks, Sage & Xero
• Motivated individual – able to use own initiative
• Excellent communication skills – verbal and written
• Technical approach to work and excellent problem-solving skills
• Committed team player
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
• Client focused and able to manage a portfolio of clients
